Practical Self-Care for Busy Days

Practical Self-Care for Busy Days
Taking care of yourself is productive

We've all said it before - “I just don't have the time". So, let this be a gentle reminder that you need to make the time to do something for yourself, no matter how big or small.

BUT! I know how hard this can be, so try to incorporate one Practical Self-Care item into your busy schedule, like the suggestions below!

I know you're busy, so i'll try to be quick!

Practical Self-Care Ideas

1. Take Short Breaks

Even amidst all the busyness, schedule short breaks to rest and recharge! Even a few minutes of deep breathing, stretching or making a hot drink can make a big difference. My suggestion - don't rush it, and try to resist using your phone.

2. Stay Hydrated

Keep a water bottle next to so you can easily drink water throughout the day to stay hydrated and energised. Plus, you can take a small break when you need to re-fill it! #workhack TIP - Treat yourself to a cute drink bottle, it makes the water taste that much better.

3. Practice Mindfulness

Set aside time to eat lunch away from your desk. Eat slowly, and enjoy your meal. Again, try to resist using your phone and instead do something like reading a book, a magazine, or even listening to a podcast!

4. Prioritise Tasks

Make a list of your tasks and prioritise them based on importance and urgency. Focus on completing high-priority tasks first, the rest of your day will follow along.

5. Wind Down

Establish a relaxing bedtime routine to unwind and prepare your body and mind for a restful sleep. Try to stay away from technology close to your bedtime and swap it out with a meditation, relaxing yoga, journaling, or reading.

I hope you are able to take a moment and do something for yourself today! You are doing an amazing job, just make sure you take some time for yourself too.

Take care,
Tamarin
